Appeals are a NO NO NO.
The DHA never takes these seriously and can take up to 2 YEARS!!!
Rather re-apply ,actually ,chances are high that you will always get the visa on the second attempt.There are lots of appeal cases juts lying in the DHA Office.Also ,all appeals are processed at the Pretoria office not Harare, so you can imagine.

It was for the risk assessor field
So what did you end up doing regarding the application
It takes forever to get a response. I once appealed in 2018 and never got any response up to now.
My recommendation is to use a lawyer maybe you may be heard and circumstances differ.

Anyone with any experience on the appeal process for CSV how long did this take

Applied around that time too, I think in two weeks min 3 weeks max our visas will be out.
I think the renewal is done in S.A, its actually faster in S.A usually takes a month or less
