Child passport
I have to apply for a passport for my 13 year old son. I live in Saarbrücken area. Previously we could do it via postage. Is it now necessary to travel and spend money for flight tickets, which I don't have, to go all the way to Berlin?

Absolutely fantastic service received from Dumisani of the embassy in Munich. Could not get hold of Berlin at all!

Terrible Consular service
I must start saying that the people offering the information for the tourist visa are very efficient and polite about giving the requirements to process a tourist visa.

Nevertheless, 2 weeks after I sent in my application (which they claim it takes 5 working days only to process) I had to call them daily, giving no information, rudely saying I had to only write an email that was never answered, until a few days later I got an e-mail from a so called officer who was asking me in the rudest and most annoyed tone, when was I planning to travel to SA?

excuse me? They've had my application including passport and German residence permit for 2 weeks! And it was obvious that this guy had not even read my application, this is unacceptable, rude and sounds like a very lazy aproach to even reviewing applications.

These people couldn't care less that they have kept me unable to travel, cause they kept my passport in their hands, I had to reschedule 2 times my international travel (not to SA).

Again, what a disappointment that they have no respect for other people's property (passports), and time!

As of now, I am still waiting for a tourist visa that at the end will take them over 3 weeks to process! Unheard of!

It's a shame that they are not processing the applications of legitimate tourists which all we wish to do is have a nice holiday and therefore supporting their economic sector.
