Fraudulent Business Deals
We have been battling to get thro to someone at the emabssy to address our issues, send e-mails to whatever e-mail addresses I could lay my hands on, and the shocking thing is nobody acknowledges the e-mails, nor responds. It seems all just goes into deaf ears. We have people in these positions to help. Nobody is prepared to take a step forward and render any assitance. This scam has cost our company thousands of dollars, authorities in China are getting away by issuing orginal documents but sending sand instead of what we have ordered. CIQ certificates are issued by the govt, and yet no one wants to investigate our case. We really are desperate for someone to contact us urgently. I have written to the Chinese Embassy in South Africa as well, but still no one cares to help.

How can I contact the embassy??
No answer on the number above, and other sites list other numbers that are no longer in service. I've tried emailing them and also get failed email delivery notifications. This is terrible.

Does anyone know about travelling from China to Taiwan for a holiday? I need a visa to enter Taiwan. And a travel consultant told me to contact the embassy.

Banana Republic
This is another example of how these overfed, overpaid monkeys from a banana republic do business

No-0ne picks up at that number!
No-one picks up at the number given!!!

Try http://www.dfa.gov.za/foreign/sa_abroad/sac.htm for more details. Otherwise, they help out pretty well, and the new visa centre is up there with the world's best:-)

SA Representatives in China cannot be contacted
No phone numbers or email addresses for the embassy and consulate seems to be manned. Staff all out to permanent lunch while drawing salaries, no doubt....

Hours??
And what are the office hours?? I've just spent over half an hour on the internet sifting through sites that give either CONFLICTING or NO information on the actual office hours of the place. Is this not supposed to be BASIC INFORMATION that should be AUTOMATICALLY included???
Help, anyone?

Very bad service in South African Consulate -general in Hong Kong
We had a very unhappy experience with the front line staffs at the office of South Africa Consul-general in Hong Kong. This is understandable that the staff members who work for South Africa Consul-general are representing the country of South Africa. However, we had been badly treated by the two impolite Chinese ladies at the front desk.

On 1st June, I had been trying to convince these two ladies that it was a very special awkward situation due to the transit visa which was took effective on 1 June 2010 without prior notice, Our customers were suffered by this sudden announcement who were just arrived Hongkong on the same day from Beijing-China, they all are mainland Chinese. I tried my best to seek a special help from these two ladies to call up the office in Beijing to solve this awkward coincident problem. Unfortunately, these two ladies were looked really annoying and lazy to do anything and they simply insist us that our clients must to go back to Beijing immediately. We had been feeling so disappointed and hopeless.

As you know, Beijing is of three hours by flight and 1500miles apart from Hong Kong. It is not the nearest office to Hong Kong as mentioned by Ms Fatima Rakiep. Beside that it will take 3-4 working days to get a transit visa. Our customers who are the directors of China National Building Material Company who are rushing to Mozambique for signing a contract for multi- MILLION USD cement project. Time is a very costly and valuable for them.

Frankly speaking, the South African Embassy is not simply a Hong Kong office. It is a supporting office for attracting business from different countries. And this is a courteous image which represent the country --South Africa! All in all, the front line staff should be re-trained and reprehensible.

I hope that this is a hiccup instant of your representative South African Consulate.

All the best and successful in 2010 FIFA World Cup.
