I just wanted to share my experiences with dealing with the High Commission here in Australia and also directly at their office in Honiara. It was absolutely horrible. Staff firstly do not know what information is posted on their sites, such as email addresses and phone numbers being incorrect and no idea which countries require a permit or not to travel there. Secondly communication with staff is practically non-existent. Because of all this lack of information and communication, they cost me a possible opportunity of a life time to work with the UN. I for sure will never even think of travelling to the Solomon Islands again. Cheers

First Fundraising of TonganBBFederation !!!
Tongan Body Building Federation of Australia (TBBFA)

I am writing on behalf of the Tongan Body Building Federation. We are a committee set up to assist with fundraising for the Tongan Body Building Federation. This team from the Kingdom of Tonga is in Australia to prepare for the South Pacific Body Building competition in New Caledonia 14 – 16 October 2010. From this competition, they will then travel on to India to the Mr Olympia Competition.

The TBBFA will be holding a fundraising concert/dance on Saturday 2 of October, 2010, at the Australian Croatian Club in O’Connor (Cnr David & McCaughey Sts) at 6pm.

Your donations will be greatly appreciated and will be announced on the Tongan weekly radio program on CMS Radio 91.1FM from 9.00am until 12.00pm every Friday, and will also be published on our new website www.tbbf.com which is still in construction and also on the Nuama of Moana website www.nuama.org and on the Phoenix Performing Arts of Moana website www.phoenix-dance.org

Since the Tongan Body Building Federation of Tonga (TBBFT) joined the South Pacific Body Building Federation in 2006, they have succeeded in winning 6 Bronze Medals, 5 Silver Medals, and 13 Gold Medals. The TBBFT are self funded and have only had the help and support of their families and some Kava clubs in Tonga. To date they have not received any assistance or funding from the Tongan Government.

The admission fee for the dance is $20, and will start at 6pm until 12.00midnight. There will be entertainment which includes a showcase by the TBBF team.

For further information please contact Lucy Nakao-Tuita on 0412480097 mobile/6257 9907 home. Email on luseane.halaevalu@gmail.com

Best Regards,

Lucy Nakao-Tuita and TBBFA Committee in Canberra ACT – 22/09/10

TBBFA is organizing fundraising activities for the Tongan Body Building Federation of Tonga (TBBFT) with the following:

Vision

- To promote the notion of ‘a healthy mind, a healthy body’

Mission Statement

- To promote our ‘traditional Island/Moanan foods’ which are organically grown staples e.g. Taro (found to have natural steroids) and its leaves (lu), coconut and sea foods and its preparation for consumption

- To promote the natural and muscularly structured form of a Pacific Islander body without the aid of any chemical substance

- To promote and encourage our Island/Moanan youth to participate in sport and a healthy lifestyle without any enhancing chemical substance

Please feel free to donate to the TBBFA for this good cause and for the sake of Olympic Spirit !!!

For donation please contact Luseane Nakao-Tuita on luseane.halaevalu@gmail.com / 02 6257 9907 home / 0412480097 mobile.

Visa for South African Citizens living in Australia
We are South African citizens living in Australia as Permanent Residents. As we still use a South African passport we urgently require info on how to apply for visas to the Solomon Islands from Australia. We have been invited to the SWIM Base in Honiara to assist in missions for 3 weeks. We are looking forward to some advice in this regard.

Solomon Passport
Hi, I've sent a couple of messages to the info@solomonemb.org.au address and I'm just wondering if they got through because I have not yet received a reply. I believe the embassy has my Solomon Islands passport which was sent through from Sydney. Will I be expecting it anytime time soon. I sent my home address and contact details.
Kind Regards
