The Barcelona Summit on Cross Continental Cooperation
"Enhancing Cross & Trans Continental Cooperation"
(Barcelona; March 22th - 25th, 2018)

The recent Catalan dispute, highlighted in the latest regional election, on December 21st, 2017 demonstrated once again the urgent need for ongoing constructive dialogue in order to achieve and maintain lasting cross-regional cooperation both within and between countries. Currently in Europe, one can see an unstable situation which is highlighted with the following examples: the Ukrainian ongoing crisis, the Russian European relation, NATO issues, the political and civil situation in Bosnia & Herzegovina, the migration dispute within the EU headed by Hungary and Poland, the Brexit, the Scottish independence aspirations, the growing separatist’s calls in Italy, the new formed nationalist government in Austria and on the other hand the call for “the United Sates of Europe” of the German Social Democratic party.

The above mentioned conflicts and transitions can be observed, not only in Europe, but in almost all continents and in many States around the globe, taking the forms of both peaceful local disputes as well as violent conflicts. It is therefore absolutely necessary that ongoing dialogues on all political levels and in both old and in new forms should be established and performed. The Barcelona Summit 2018 aims to analyze and debate those important developments in order to demonstrate best practices to enhance cross & transcontinental cooperation.

A response concerning your participation in the conference should be sent to the organizational committee at: amores@culturaldiplomacy.org.

We look forward to welcome you to the conference.

Sincerely yours,
