Let me just share my experience on applying for visa stamping. I applied for business visa in Qatar and took me about 2 weeks and QR2800 to get my visa notice. With the visa notice, along with the invitation letter from a company in Qatar sponsoring me, I headed to Mckinley Hills where the embassy is located (address above). I arrived at 6AM, knowing office hours start at 9:00AM, I was overwhelmed with the number of applicants, considering it was a Tuesday. I asked the guard and he said I must enlist in the Log-in form. It turned out 6 AM was already late. I was numbered 69! He advised me that I had a bleak chance of getting inside because the earliest registrant arrived at 2AM..but then still tried my luck since I came from the province. We all waited outside in a small clearing until 9 AM exchanging information and experiences. I found out DHL was a former contractor of the embassy in visa and stamping applications, too bad the new ambassador didn’t renew the contract, for it was surely much more convenient especially for those living in far provinces like Mindanao. I said this because YOU must come in person to apply. They have accredited travel and manpower agencies, but then again, nobody can assure one’s legitimacy unless you are applying for a work visa under them. Now 9:00 AM struck and suddenly these hordes of agents known as liaison officers assembled in the middle, out of nowhere. Yes, office hours for visa applications and stamping were from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM only, and yes, those hordes of liaisons were the first to go in! Goodbye to me getting inside, I surrendered. Although agencies were only allotted time from 9-9:30 only, all of them, around 40 or so, got in...making start of accepting direct applicants at a little before 10, meaning only a handful of entrants will be allowed until 10:30, because they don’t care who gets cut-off at the strike of that time. They lined us up according to log-in numbers, and took in a batch of 15. It took them only two batches to cut us off. So fast forward, those who got stranded gets to be prioritized (as they term it) the following day. I was now number 16, surely I hoped I make it this time. I consider myself lucky because the one ahead of me said that was her FOURTH day coming there! The first two days she was cut-off, the third day she made it inside, only to find out her required 2x2 pictures were shot too close. So here she is on her fourth, hoping not to become a resident of the area already. We made it inside; having only to line up again for it was a small room. Please advise that they are strict with the requirements...and in case of my business visa, THE VISA NOTICE printout, THE LETTER OF INVITATION printout (mine was e-mailed), 2 pieces of 2x2 PICTURES, WHITE BACKGROUND, FACE TAKEN NOT TOO CLOSE, ORIGINAL PASSPORT VALID AT LEAST 6 MONTHS BEFORE TRAVEL, AND A PAYMENT OF PHP 2100, EXACT AMOUNT, NO QUESTIONS ASKED (I wondered why? maybe to speed up the process). Now, after I was through with my submission. The Filipina examiners (Yes, they’re all Filipinas) made me sign another log-in form and instructed me to return in four days for the release. Yikes! You know they want to see you again…but then again getting over the queueing just makes you feel relieved. In releasing, you go to the same counter after four days carrying with you a valid ID which you’ll show for them to locate your passport. At last, after three days, four delayed meals, about hundreds of kilometers to and fro, You have a visa-stamped passport! With this procedure, maybe one of you could start a petition that a service like those of DHL could be considered back, I’m sure everyone would be happy with that. Or at least make it an Appointment-Type system either online or by phone (like those of US Embassy and DFA), so that precious time, money, and efforts don’t go to waste. Let agencies be the ones left to go there directly, besides, it’s their job, right? What d’yall say? Feel free to comment, and Have a wonderful time in Qatar! God bless us all.

Hi.
I'm travelling via Doha, but don't have connecting flights... Do I need a transit-visa, or can I get a temporary visa / leave when I go through the passport checkpoint at the arrival?
Any advice, please?
