So far, so good
I've called on numerous occassions and have had my questions answered. I went in today and I was pressed for time. Everyone was very helpful. I submitted all the necessary paper work and will wait for an email as promised.

Pissed off Porkchop
I am sick and tired of not having my phone calls and emails answered. The consulate is supposed to be here to help the people right!?! Emailed the consulate in Toronto & they got back to me that same day. Absolute disgrace we have here in Vancouver!

Portuguese passport
Called twice and no answer, just messages for things I don't want to hear. Would be great if someone actually answered the phone so I could get my answers to the questions I have. Another frustrated Portuguese

Telefones para que?
Usar o telefone para contactar o consulado nem pensar, porque nāo atendem. Uma vergonha de serviço prestado à comunidade! Quem paga por isso? Fechem a porta, nāo precisamos disso!

Holiday Hours
Hello,

Does anyone know the holiday hours of the Portuguese consulate in Vancouver? I am wondering if they are opened on January 2 and 3?

Thank you.

patience is a virtue that i do not have
this is crazy stuff...i have been trying to become portuguese for years... but actively for months... i have yet to even successfully submit an application. why??? because the data i get from the consulate was too difficult to obtain... so i ask "well as i am in portugal this summer, what is required there?" i was informed by the person on the phone that they did not know. the portuguese consulate did not know what portugal required...hmmm that is odd.
while in portugal... i could not do my paperwork due to lack of translation and stamping... would have been nice to know all this jazz before i took the $1400.00 flight... i think...
in regards to phone calls being answered i recommend calling repeatedly... do not assume they will return messages...
and when they say they will respond via email quicker do not go with that theory either...i tried it since i was in another country...it did not work...
WORD OF ADVICE...BE PERSISTENT...
CALL AND THINK OF ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU CAN BEFORE CALLING CAUSE IF YOU DO TALK TO THEM AND FORGET A QUESTION...YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT TO GET A HOLD OF THEM AGAIN!!! AT LEAST THAT WAS MY EXPERIENCE. i am hoping for batter in the following steps of what feels like a battle of red tape!
