I would like to obtain Portuguese citizenship. My mother was born in Portugal, but is now a Canadian citizen. My father is Canadian, as am I. What are the steps involved and the necessary documents?

Azores-Help
I currently am working with a lawyer to help us obtain properties in our name, sort out a divorce and multiple deaths in the family, it has been a welcome relief to dealing with things overseas, and the cost is quite reasonable. If anyone would like help or information please let me know and I will give you his email, he speaks English. diane.puim@live.ca

Power of attorney
Myself and my mother are English. I live in Canada and she lives in Portugal. We are buying a property and in order for the mortgage to be approved I need to give her power of attorney. Can the consulate in Vancouver do this or do I have to go through a Portuguese lawyer.
