Potruguese Identity Card
I was born in Portugal, but I have lived in Canada since I was 3. I would like to get my Portuguese "Bilhete de Identidade" (identity card) or some form of citizenship card or document. Does anyone know what I need to do to obtain it from the Consulate? The only Portugese documentation I have is my birth certificate and I also have my Canadian passport which says I was born there.

APPLYING FOR CITIZENSHIP THROUGH DESCENT
I have ordered my Canadian long-form birth certificate and my father's long-form Portuguese birth certificate to apply for citizenship but I was told I also need my (Canadian) mother's long-form birth certificate which could be problematic. Does anyone know if this is true? If it is, is there a way in which I can apply for hers without her assistance?
Thanks,
