passport renewel
My Portuguese passport expired last November,(8-11-2012)how long does it take to renew? I have a trip to Europe coming up on the second week of May,will I get the passport in time if I come in right away?

I have a friend that lives in Florida and will be visiting me during Christmas here in RI. He needs to renew his passport. Will he be able to renew his passport here or does he need to renew in Floriday.
