horrible service
Is anyone monitoring this irresponsible behavior? There are so many people out of work, how can this be allowed? Fire everyone and be professional and like the rest of professional entities accountable for your work. I made an apointment on your website, took 1/2 day off, travelled 90 min each way only to hear I was not scheduled! In fact you did even know you had this capability!! You should be ashamed of yourself, I have never seen such rudeness and stupidity!

ugh!
I wish the NY embassy would let me take care of my paperwork there. The employees in Newark work slowly, and do not know the word 'efficiency.' Everything is much more difficult than it needs to be.

The receptionist never picks up the phone, messages are not returned, and you're never correctly warned ahead of time what materials to bring. Not to mention that the work hours are ridiculous!

No One Answers the Phone.. EVER....
They say we need to make apt but no one ever answers the phone to make. So this makes people drive from south jersey to north jersey just to make an apt. this is not fair or just. the consultate should have a customer friendly process in place.

This site
This site says The Most Accurate Source For Embassy Information...As far as I'm concerned the consul in Newark is no longer Francisco Azevedo....very accurate indeed?!?!? Should we trust anything that is said in this site??? Meanwhile people(just as I am) are consulting this page in 2012!!!

Laziest people!!
They work from 9 - 1 hr. No where on the website does it state you need an appointment but then if you go there, they make you schedule something and come back!
Also, try calling their phone number. NO ONE ANSWERS, EVER!! Press 4 for english and you get someone's voicemail in Portuguese.
Unbelievable!

Unbelievably Rude!!
The woman at the front desk at the consulate in Newark has got to be te rudest person I have ever had the misfortune of speaking with. She is condescending, rude, arrogant, offensive and overall nasty. Unfortuantely I have to deal with this consulate as it is the nearest one to which I live. Obviously by having someone at the front desk with this type of attitude is how the consulate wants to represent themselves. Shame on all of you!! Even more so because this comment will just fall on deaf ears!!
