NASTY PEOPLE THERE!
Lady at the front desk was so rude. Got there 8min early for my 2pm appointment and had me wait outside the building. Then when I went the 8th floor the women that was helping me was okay. She knew my Portuguese wasn't the greatest yet spoke perfectly good English and continued speaking to me in Portuguese. The women that I have been emailing back and forth, Maria Leitao. not friendly! Gives attitude back when asked a question. I cant deal, a disgrace to our country.

No one picked up the phone and the Email address doesn't work
This is just pathetic. I start to wonder how the email address listed on the Portuguese Embassy website for the Consulate in New York is not valid. I sent an email to the listed email address and immediately received an email bounce back to me saying that the Delivery to the Recipient failed permanently. Should I question if the physical address is fake too?

If you want a visa appointment, you have to email them here: visas.newyork@mne.pt

I had my appointment a month ago and still haven't heard back.
I call probably 20 times a day and get no answer. The 2 times i've gotten an answer, they said check back again next week.

They've had my passport for a month now and there's no way you can reach these people!

How is that even legal???

Are we not answering the phones because we tied with Iceland?
Both tying with Iceland and not answering the phones is embarassing :-)

WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE??????
For the Portuguese Consulate-General of New York, its very unprofessional not to have a recording answering service giving out information on how to go about reaching them for info.

This place seems to be totally out of touch! My friend warned me about these people, not friendly , extremely poor service! ( where do they find these people) are they even qualified to work there
