Terrible service. Is anybody in-charge of this joke? Is this a reflection of our country?
They just can't be nice and apreciable like other countries.
I called the consulate two days ago to obtain information about translating a death certificate to Portuguese among other documents. At first she wasn't comprehending what I was asking and then proceeded to tell me that her colleague would call me back. Its been two day's and still waiting! Unreal. Terrible customer service and no one seems to know what they are doing. How do they get away with it is beyond me.
I just spoke to the consulate on information to renew my Portuguese passport and I have to say I did not have the issues that are mentioned in these mailnote I spoke to a lady named Jermana and she was very polite and helpful
This consulate is a joke. They are insulting and rude in everyway possible. They put you on hold for 10 minutes just to get back on the phone to ask you to call back later in the afternoon because they're too busy. When you call at the time they specified they're closed! They provide you inaccurate information and make everything sound like it's impossible to do. They just don't want to be bothered. It's sad how they get away with it.
Amazing, it makes me embarrassed to be Portuguese. The lack of information or misinformation is also a horror. We are all trying to conduct business or reclaim passports to our common country. It is a shame because no one I know in Portugal or my family would ever be so rude.
I submitted my documents in Dec. 2009 to Mrs. Ana Cruz and she just sat on it till I went back to collect in July 2012.
I need to provide "Power of Attorney" to my sister who lives in Portugal empowering her to represent our interests in the execution of a real estate transaction to be executed within two weeks. I was told I had to contact the Portuguese Consulate in the U. S. to get the proper documentation. Could you please get back with me as soon as possible and let me know what it is that I must do/provide? Thank you.
Sincerely,
Joseph Oliver
I had the same problem with Anna Cruz!
I was never treated so bad in my life before. SHe wa extremely rude.
I went today to the Portuguese consulate in New York for application of schengen visa. I have a green card, was born in Dominican Republic. I am practicing physician in New York and wanted I enjoy my vacation in Lisbon, Portugal. I was treated so poorly and rude by someone named Anna Cruz!! I have never been treated so bad in my life, I thought if someone wants to go expend money in your country, you should try to make their experience as smoothly as possible, which was the complete opposite of what happened to me. Not only was I treated completely wrong, I was even accused in front of everyone who was waiting there!!!
I can't believe there are people like Mrs. Anna Cruz dealing with the public, her behavior is completely unacceptable!!!
