British Rape Victim Refused Forensic Examination-over payment-Police tell court in Lisbon
British Rape Victim Refused Forensic Examination-over payment-Police tell court in Lisbon
Reports reaching Tao News from Lisbon the capital of Portugal, clearly indicate that, the Police Officer in charge of conducting forensic examination on the British lady, who told the Police she was raped, while on vacation in Lisbon, with her friend over a year ago, refused to allow a team of medical experts, examine her when she became aware she had to settle the medical bills of services rendered to her-in the hospital where she was taken to by the police for forensic examination.
These facts were made known by the Investigating Police Officer in Charge of the case while testifying in a recent court appearance in Lisbon. He also told the court that he appealed to the victim, severally to agree to undertake the said medical examination to no avail. That he even warned the victim, of the consequences of not availing herself for the test. That he made it very clear to her understanding that, unless she allowed the Doctors, conduct a proper medical examination of her, there would be no evidence to present to the court concerning the alleged rape report., which one of the victims later alleged in a taped telephone conversation that they were coerced by the police in Lisbon, to make against the defendants.

Lisbon Police Station

The Police Officer, further testified on oath that, in spite of all the pleas made to the victim to enable her appreciate the importance of the forensic examination, designed purely to collect the DNA of the defendants and to enable the Doctors know if she sustained injuries or had some deposits of semen still in her private part, or had any signs of forced penetration in her, the victim refused to allow the team of forensic experts undertake the said medical test on her.
Also in court to testify was the young man, who claimed to have had what he termed -(consensual sex) with the victims, less than 3 days after the said British girl reported rape to the police in Lisbon. The witness, said to be a gypsy and whose name is being withheld for security reasons, admitted in his testimony to the court, that what he had with the British girl- was a mutually agreed sex. It is not clear if the victim told the witness, she was ever raped by the defendants in the case. The witness later told the court in Lisbon, that, what both of them had on more than one occasion at her hotel room, after the alleged incident of rape as reported to the police was a mutual sex.
However, a renowned Sexologist Dr. Laura Berman, admits inter alia that (Rape can devastate individuals, as well as challenge and change relationships in unimaginable ways. She asserts that, as a sex therapist, rebuilding ones sex life after you have been raped, might be one of the most difficult things you will ever do, Whether you are the rape victim or your partner is the victim, sexual assault can leave an indelible mark on your sexuality and your relationship with other men for months. It might be hard therefore for any women to trust anyone, even your own spouse, and you might feel dirty, disgusted, or even angry when your partner tries to touch you. Not to talk of trying to be intimate with you. Victims of sexual assault are six times more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, which can lead to symptoms such as nightmares, feelings of emptiness, memory loss, guilt, shame, insomnia, loss of appetite, and hearing/seeing things that aren’t really there. They may feel completely unsupported by their boyfriend or husbands, who may not understand why it is “taking so long” for you to get back on track sexually with him. Many women feel disgusted and used after they are raped.
Yes, It is true that you won’t ever forget the pain and suffering you endured at the hands of your attackers. Certainly, no women worth her salt, would jump into bed with a total stranger just three days after reporting rape to the police) Unquote. So what made this particular rape victim, fall for a total stranger, just days after she refused to be examined by Doctors and less than three days after telling the police she was raped? The truth as they say lies somewhere in the heavens-if this particular incident can be described as rape at all.
Also in the witness box to testify for the prosecution, was the Hotel Receptionist, who also told the court that on the night that the said victim in question was allegedly raped, he was on duty when the two girls arrived at the lobby of the Hotel, accompanied by two of the defendants laughing and having the fun of their lives. He admitted that only one of the girls, appeared to be a little bit tipsy. He added that he quietly gave them the key to their room and left them to the acts with the boys-But that the British girl came out 10 minutes later to see the two defendants off at the receptions. That there was nothing from the British girl to indicate to him that, she had just been raped-since he saw them exchanging pleasantries with each other.
Sources close to the TAO News- in Lisbon equally revealed that the British girls seems not to have told the police the truth when she said none of the defendants used condoms while having sex with her. . For not only were condoms found in the scene of the incident-no evidence has so far been presented by the prosecution to show the defendants did not use condom while having what the defendants described as mutual sex-with the victim. For only time will tell if the British girl, who happens to be the victim of the rape incident, was lured by the first person whom she claimed to have agreed to have consensual sex with in his grand mothers house in Lisbon, was telling the truth or not. Since one of the victims who recently came back from a vacation in Lisbon again–Almost a year after the incident, had already declared in a sworn.-affidavit that she had already settled out of court with the defendants,
all of them students on vacation for the first in Lisbon when the said incident took place-are being kept in soul depressing prison condition in Lisbon, for almost a year and 4 months now.
The parents of one of the defendants condemned rape in its entirety-notes that all he wants is for the victim to tell the world the truth nothing but the truth. One of the defendants also said he was in the kitchen preparing food when his friend called to ask if he wanted to have sex. And he said why not¨. That he asked the British girl, in particular if it was fine for him to have sex with her and she answered in the affirmative. That it was the British girl who even wanted to know if she could come on top of him.
A request which he obliged her. Only for him and his friends to be accused of rape he asked nobody in particular while starring into space as if in a trance with floods of tears running down his face. Another asked (how could a girl who claims to have been raped not know whether we used condom or not and refuses to tell the world that she went to bed with a total stranger just days after the incident?)
(It was right in my presence when the said gypsy guy arrived at the night club–he was a drunk—a complete wreck–a witness to the incident told Tao News-yet she took that guy to bed just days after telling the police she was raped-She slept with the guy not once but twice another witness quipped in anger at the entire legal process which has kept the defendant in prison custody for over a year and 4 months while awaiting full trial of the case to begin in earnest.
Already whatever educational plans that the defendants had has been dashed for now-However, the case will still come up on the 9th of November 2016 in Lisbon.
