My daughter is half Portuguese so I phoned the JHB Port Consulate for info regarding her citizenship. The gentleman that I spoke to was incredibly rude; unfortunately I didn’t get his name. As a representative of Port he should be ashamed as his behavior is a very poor reflection on his country.
Hi I WAS REGISTERED AS A PORTUGUESE CITIZEN ON MY DAD'S PASSPORT WHEN I WAS YOUNG BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY HE GAVE ME A CARD AND SAID I MUST PRESENT THIS AT THE PORTUGUESE CONSULATE TO GET MY PORTUGUESE PASSPORT. I HAVE ALSO BEEN MARRIED TO A SOUTH AFRICAN WOMAN FOR 25 YEARS WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO HAVE HER REGISTERED FOR A PORTUGUESE PASSPORT AS WELL.
PLEASE IF YOU COULD INFORM ME ON WHAT STEPS TO TAKE I WOULD BE GRATEFULL.
REGARDS
CARLOS
