the policy follow-up. As a result, in April 2014, the Commission adopted a Communication on guidance for application of Directive 2003/86/EC on the right to family reunification.
Member states may impose a waiting period of no more than two years for family reunification

That is why they are taking it easy and we cannot take them to the courts because of this EU law.

I don't know how did your brother get a visa from Dubai. When I applied for family reunification to SEF I knew that consular section of Portugal embassy in Pakistan is closed that is I asked them and I also requested that I want to get a visa for my family from UAE. SEF said that we will not issue any kind of letter for the embassy to give you but SEF will advise to the Ministry of foreign affairs to issue us a visa from UAE. Me and my family went to ABU DHABI twice but the embassy refused us to entertain and asked us to contact to the Ministry of foreign affairs in Lisbon I came back and contacted several times in personally and submitted an application with a reference no. given to issue us a visa from UAE but they asked me to wait for the opening of the consular section of Portugal embassy in Pakistan.
Still I am in contact with the Ministry of foreign affairs in Lisbon I call them but in vain.
I have spent and waisted a lot of money and got nothing.
I don't know why are you spreading these wrong informations as I have already did all these things with my hands.

Sister plz tell one thing if wife or husband is a portugase national,( I mean gora or gori) and other is a Pakistani if they get marriage so he/she need sef approval letter for visa or marriage certificate from consevatorio enough for visa applying in Pakistan Portugal embassy etc.

My brother himself went there by air after approval of visa and everything done by hand, secondly SEF issues the country name not for being permanent residential option but on second option which is the advisory letter by forign ministry portugal in lisbon, he got that paper by hiring a lawyer bcs they don't deal anybody personally I m right now in pakistan, but my children are too British nationals and I had been in Britain and Europe since 18 years. Don't know ppl are so crazy to fight and indulge in unethical activities with the ppl who never bother them or have any concern. So sympathetic ppl are don't know how they survive in their routine lives, feeling a little bit ashamed to talk or reply such ppl a d share information with these kind of ignorant ppl, goodbye everybody.
