Immigrating to the UK
The Goans in the UK are tone deaf. They are in a country where a significant portion of the population doesn’t want them there. Most English people do not want Goan immigrants in the UK. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying or misinformed.

Comments from Conservative MP for Kettering, Philip Hollobone in twenty sixteen regarding Goans using Portuguese Passports to enter Britain
“This is an outrageous loophole and it must be closed. This is yet another case of the issuing of passports by an EU country to people who have no intention of going to that country, but head straight to Britain. If we left the EU, we could introduce border controls that would prevent these people from coming in.”

Similarly a commenter on a daily mail article about Goans using Portuguese Passports to enter the UK says

“If Portugal wants to give these Indians passports , then they should be ready to support them , NOT pass the problem onto the UK Taxpayer”

Even if you qualify for the points based system, you should avoid the UK. If you’re interested in money and only speak English, Irish salaries are higher than UK ones. In my own case, I would qualify for a permit under the points based system but I have absolutely no intention of immigrating to the UK.

With recent postings ,dont be duscouraged about going to UK for better life..A lot of goan people have reached there by sheer luck with no qualification or proffesion whatsoever...I M one of them..a lot of people better qualified than me are still there in goa...could not make it here before deadline..its not right to boast and tease fellow goans back home about ones income..cause lot of people like me are just lucky to be here....I just feel grateful to God for that..

There is virtually no anti immigrant sentiment in the Republic of Ireland. The Irish are pretty friendly. I haven’t been to Northern Ireland so can’t comment on it. Ireland hasn’t had much immigration compared to the UK.

It's the same reasons the UK Independence Party gained power in twenty fifteen into sixteen that influenced the referendum due to falling favour with David Cameron.

Btw, do you know how's the situation in Ireland (as in the whole, Northern and Republic) in terms of favour with the Irish towards immigrants? Thus far, almost all the Irish I've been having interaction with have been friendly.

Thanks. I’ve travelled to the US, UK and other parts of Europe for work multiple times so I know the UK isn’t the best country to live in. I also understand how the English actually think. This goes over the heads of many Goan and other immigrants who live in the UK since they are surrounded by either fellow immigrants or white liberals.

I’ve had conversations with English work colleagues over drinks where they openly complain about England being full of immigrants. They don’t explicitly say it, but you can understand that they feel England should belong to the English.

There is a significant percentage of the white English population who would kick George and the other Goans or Eastern Europeans out of the country if given the chance. He might not have interacted with them, since he spends his time in liberal cities like Liverpool, but they lots of voting power. An independent England could easily go from voting Conservative to Reform UK to Britain First. The non white immigrants in England would then be in for a rude shock
