Just want to convey my heartfelt gratitude to you. You didn't have to mention your experience in such detail along with the tips you provided. Thank you so much and God Bless you. This was very very informative.

Hi GoaBoy,

Please do not be dejected and depressed. I was for a long time but now I am in a better mental state.

As I come to think of it, my uncle had to wait for almost a year and a half for a CC/BI renewal appointment and about four months ago he was able to renew his CC/BI successfully. I do not have dates but his CC/BI expired somewhere in August/September Twenty Twenty.

Again, please do not lose hope. This Consulate is really very very slow and people on the inside work like it is a school picnic. I am sorry to say this, but even the Passport Office in Patto Panjim works faster and processes at least One Hundred appointments in a day.

I hope and pray that you get your appointment soon and are able to successfully get your CC/BI renewed.

Take Care and Stay Blessed!

I do remember you Manuel Ferns.
There was lot of humiliation you had to face here few years ago.

You were called Arabs slave and desert slut and all kinds of abuses.

God bless as you are back and definitely will help this forum.

Thanks Maria for all your information. Do you know the procedure of doing that in portugal? I heard people do both together. You apply online & they give you an appointment?

Everyone
Hi Everyone, I am back from my CC Application (NEW) and I thought I would post an update on this blog.

My birth was registered at the Conservatorio Dos Registros Centrais De Lisboa in October Twenty-Twenty. After Four CC/BI Applications Declines, I finally received CC/BI Application Approval for Nineteen March Twenty-Twenty-Three, which I made on Twenty-Fifth October Twenty-Twenty-One.

About month ago, I received an email that my CC/BI appointment was pre-poned for Tenth December Twenty-Twenty-Two.

As of the day I made my application, there are only Twenty-Five CC/BI appointments that are processed per day, the reason being COVID. Apparently pre-COVID, there were One-Hundred CC/BI Appointments that were issued per day.

CC/BI Applications (For the respective day) are on a first come first serve basis and what I mean by that is; if you are first in the queue outside the Consulate in Altinho Panjim (On those mighty annoying steps), you will finish your application process early. As soon and you enter, they give you a token, mine was J (J as in John) Twenty-Two because I was one of the last few to stand in the queue.

I was lazy and got there around Nine AM, and I finished my CC/BI application process at Three-Thirty PM. They gave us a lunch break at One-Thirty PM and told us to come back at Two-Thirty PM. If you have a medical condition and feel the need to eat/drink, please carry light food and water. I carried my ladies handbag inside but NO ELECTRONICS WHATSOEVER!!!!!

Once you are seated in the common area, they first start by taking your biometrics. Then they call you in for your CC/BI Application, where they ask you questions, process your application and ask you to make a payment with the cashier. Everything is done according to your token number.

I applied for an urgent CC/BI (New) for which I paid INR Four Thousand and Sixty Fix. The turnaround time for urgent CC/BI (New) is Three to Four Weeks. The turnaround time for a normal CC/BI (New) Application is Six weeks. Also, please check your personal details on the CC/BI Application Sheet thoroughly (For spelling errors). This sheet will be given to you by the Consulate Employee/Officer.

For Collection, for urgent CC/BI, they asked me to write an email to consulado.goa@mne.pt, with my details to know if my CC/BI is ready for pickup and accordingly I can collect it. For normal CC/BI, they give you a precise collection date. There is a separate timing for collection, which is post-lunch.

If you are making a CC/BI application for the first time, please please ensure that you know your family tree details thoroughly. If possible, to be on the safe side, carry your registered grandparents/parents/siblings’ original documents (Assento de Nascimento/Assento de Casamento/Assento de Óbito/CC/BI/PP). They ask verification questions like names and dates of birth and addresses to ensure authenticity. I was bombarded with questions regarding my grandparents, parents, and siblings (names and dates and addresses), thankfully I carried my parents Assento de Nascimento, Assento de Casamento and CC/BI.

There was a guy before me (CC/BI New Application), and someone had forged his documents and collected his CC/BI and PP and vanished to the EU. So, he was there to meet with the Consul General to start a Police Case/Court Case to track down the culprit. I felt very sorry for him because he was extremely stressed and in tears.

People, please do not share your documents with anyone, especially your Assento de Nascimento, Assento de Casamento and CC/BI and also ensure the authenticity of your agent/advocate, so that you are safe.

Stay Blessed and Merry Christmas.

If post sixty one Goa then upto a year.
If pre sixty one Goa upto three years.
If post sixty one Mumbai then upto two years.
If pre sixty one Goa upto three years.

Assuming all your documents have zero divergencies on names and all correlate perfectly.
