Pakistani Visa Issuance
Pakistani visas have been in the news again recently. Is there any chance that the ban on their issuance will be lifted?

Name withheld
Answer: The news of the Pakistani visas was linked to the visit to Kuwait of the Pakistani Prime Minister. In an interview with the Arab Times, the Pakistani premier had discussed the ban on the issuance of such visas with HH the Amir of Kuwait and also the Kuwaiti prime minister. He said he was ‘hopeful’ of a solution to the problem being found. That’s all the news we have so far because the local authorities have not commented on the issue.

NO VISA
I am from Pakistan. My husband is in Kuwait and his monthly income is around KD 300/- to 400/-. Can he apply for a family visa and if yes then what would be the process? Can you please also tell me if visas are open for Pakistanis or not?

Name withheld
Answer: Your husband is earning enough to apply for a family visa but currently he can’t get one because visas are banned for six nationalities, including Pakistanis. He has to wait until this ban is lifted. The ban has already been in place for nearly two years and it doesn’t look likely to be lifted in the near future.
