Reading through the comments on this site, i am wondering what the purpose of this site is? I thought the discussion was supposed to be on the Norwegian Embassy related stuff including - obtaining Visas.

legal enforcement
I know, i don't have the platform to speak out my mind but it’s good to provide you with some little hints, the problems of the world have always generated from the problem of lack of tolerance and from the issue of legal enforcement on morality, this has forced the world to have gross violation on human rights issues especially on the minorities, the issue of morality whenever mentioned raises many issues within people's minds a up to a level when legislators will try to use law on morality, but let’s ask ourselves, IS IT RATIONAL TO USE THE LAW ON MATTERS OF MORALITY? And two IS THERE ANY AREA OF MORALITY WHICH THE LAW OUGHT NOT TO INTERFERE WITH?
When these two questions are answered correctly then our current problems will be settled.
Morality has got two dimensions that is UNIVERSAL MORAL VALUES which include theft, murder, assault, rape, defilement, fraud, arson and many others which cut across various groups especially in pluralist societies like this of ours(Uganda) and then we have also got VARIABLE MORAL VALUES which include dressing code, sexual morality, religious beliefs and more these vary according to culture, religion, race etc. so the law should focus mainly on issues of universal moral values but not on variable moral values, the law should be concerned with the minimal standard of morals but not perfectionist standard between the two there is a line of various behaviors which the state has to leave to religious institutions to change the hearts of people but not the state to hijack the morality issue the state should be concerned about universal moral values which may pose tangible harm but never be concerned with variable moral values which may pose intangible harm, its harm is psychological so should be left to non-state actors to be bothered about it not the state to take over this is a simple advice to our legislators, sometimes you will make laws on variable moral values and end up violating the human rights ,as long as somebody's exercise of human rights doesn’t interfere with another person’s right's right why infringe on that person’s right, through making laws. This is the time and era were i argue Ugandans to shift there tolerance paradigm so as to encompass a wide society if there is a shift so will our mind (idols of the mind) thus the shift in the way we legislate our laws, Therefore lets us as Ugandans acquire the spirit of tolerance, tolerance doesn't mean you approve what somebody does but means you endure and bear with that somebody as long as what they may be doing doesn't overstep your rights too and if you want that somebody to change don’t use force(force may be the laws) just fall logic and persuasion and change that somebody, this is the work of the church not the state. That is my simple advice to my Ugandan legislators.
