Hello,
My name is Iliyasu Kasimu; I am a Jos-based Filmaker/Freelance Journalist/Peace worker. I have visited Norway three times. One in 2007 when I visited Tromso for Nordic Youth Film Festival; second in 2009 when I led a youth workshop to make a film on FGM and in August last year (2011) when I was selected for the Ragnar Sohlman Schorlaship by the Swedish Norwweigian Fund to visit places of interest in Norway and Sweden. Amongst the places I have the priviledge of visiting are the Nobel Peace Centre in Oslo and The Nobel Museum in Stockholm. While on that visit I participated in a youth program titled Express Yourself organised by the Voksenassen Centre where we made works in Art, Film and Literature on the theme of Doing away with all forms of extremisms and racial or sectarian hatred.
Since my return I have been actively engaged in peace works here in my town Jos. Since the begining of this year I have been involved in talking to youths(the real targets for extremist indoctrination)under an NGO called Building Relationships in City Centre BRiCC using the Film medium. I have developed a youth Film project which I think should take off anytime next year. In it I intend to engage youths from different backgrounds (particularly) in the telling stories via the film medium; stories that would tell other youths in neighborhoods and schools of the importance of coming together to build lives not to destroy them. Already the youths with me are keen about it; but for funding constraints we just cannot continue. I would hereby want to apply for some funding with your embassy. How can I go about it please? What do I need to fulfil and to whom do I send my prospectus. Thank you
Please sir,I received a long awaited letter of admission from NLA university collage Bergen Norway last week Wednesday,Which is asking me to be in Norway by 7th January. Sir i hope it will not be too late to come for my visa processing from next week. Please you can reply me via websitiz@yahoo.com
