What is with the Nigerian Embassies?
I have been calling all the nigerian consulates in New York Atlanta, and washington Dc for the past eith months. This is what I am getting: "the calls cannot be completed, please check the number and dial again"
Do people work in those offices or they are somewhere driving taxi. I cannot even print out the visa or passport applications online. What is wrong with this country you call Nigeria?

waiting on visa
Like others, I am waiting to receive my visa and passport back from the Nigerian embassy. I am due to travel this weekend and am unable to reach the embassy either via their contact page on their website or via phone. Is there another number besides the one above?

Visa Status
Hello,

I am trying to contact you to find out the status of my visa application - I am leaving this week and require the visa and my passport. Is there another phone number I can call? I tried sending an email but it was bounced back.

Thank you for your assistance.

Washington DC
I have been trying this office for quite a long time. The phone never goes through. Same with the fax line. My passport is stucked, not to mention the visa! No way to make a follow up. It is ridiculous!!!! Something needs to be done about that office. You can readily get information on the New York, why not DC?

New Nigeria Embassy
I am very impressed with the current state of our embassy in DC. If anyone knows what it was in the past to get things done i.e., Passport Renewal, Inquiries and immigration services, you will agree with me on this assertion.
I give credit to the current man in charge of the Embassy, Mr Hakeem Balogun for his exemplary leadership.
I hope he continues on this great part.

Fraud at the Nigerian Embassy in DC
Mr. Hakeem Balogun the officer currently in charge of the embassy is highly corrupt and should be audited by an independent auditors. All the embassy's phone numbers including those in his own section are all full. You can hardly find anyone on phone to talk to whenever you need to make enquiries. What kind of embassy is this? Indeed it is a shame and something needs to be done to overhaul the embassy.

Besides, the embassy charges inappropriate passport fees and operates an illegal business center. The consular staff are rude and inept. It is doubtful whether the daily generated revenues from passport, visa, including those revenues generated from rendering passport services to Nigerians whenever the embassy staff travel to other states and cities in the United States are remitted to the Government through the Single Treasury Account.

Visa and Passport Fraud at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC
Visa and passport fraud are conspicuous in the Embassy of Nigeria, Washington, DC. The embassy operates a business center inside the embassy and makes Nigerian and non-Nigerians pay through their noise when applying for both visas and passports by demanding for expedite fees and other irrelevant fees. The Embassy does not have an ambassador and operates like a jungle.

President Buhari needs to investigate and bring all those found culpable to justice. The man who heads the embassy currently pockets most of the visa and passport fees. He has those working for him and helping him to steal massively from the embassy.

I have decided not to renew my Nigerian passport in DC when it expires because of this monumental visa and passport fraud. I will rather go to New York or Atlanta.
