Dear Sir,
Am writing regarding the way Nigerians are arrested and mistreated in this Country. Am a Kenya and I have a nigerian friend in Industrial area remand prison. The guy has been there since June last year! he was accused of a crime he never commited, was denied bond because he is a FOREIGNER... You should have heard how the police represented their signed affidavit in court, you would think they have some massive evidence that the guy actually commited a crime. The truth is, what they have on him is meagre, it is not even a crime. He only bought an air ticket.
Sir, once these Nigerians are arrested, they are treated as if they do not have rights, in the new Kenyan costitution that was promulgated in August 2010, It is indicated that every person has a right to a bond, he was denied bond reason being he will flee the country. in the same case the guy was consolidated with other three co accused. 2 Romanians and one Kenyan. suprisingly enough the Kenyan was given bond, one Romanian was also given bond. Funnily enough the Romanian who was given bond DID NOT EVEN HAVE A PASSPORT.
I have been following up this case since the beggining and am made to understand that my friend actually has a company that was operating even at his time of arrest, he had applied for a work permit and they had already issued him with an accepteance letter, he was only supposed to deposit ksh 100,000 to get his 2years permit unfortunately he was arrested before he deposited the money.
Sir, your people are suffering, they are treated as criminals everywhere they go, they are judged unfairly. Please do something. I guess there are Kenyans in Nigeria, I only wonder how they are treated.
We Nigerians worldwide want to know whether it is crime to be a nigerian to the extent that our fellow African brother will want to kill us for mere seen us and we Nigerians are so generous, kind and our brothers anywhere in the world. Therefore,we demand Kenyan authority unconditional release of the Nigerians, apologize, fully compensate them and promise this would not repeat itself again

Thanks for your cooperation in this case because my uncle Sylvester Oseyemo Osimen and the two other Nigerians in the Kenya authority detention had told me that a representative from the Nigerian embassy in Kenya had visited them in detention regarding this case and had promise that a lawyer will be sent to them tomorrow. I will please urge your office to please handle this case with urgency so that this three innocent Nigerians could be set free. They are not a security threat in any regard, they were just unlawfully detained for no reason. Thanks and God bless.
