Visiting Mexico with American husband
Hi. I am a Filipina in the Philippines marrying an American lay missionary based in Nicaragua. After our wedding two weeks from now, we need to go to Nicaragua by May 2016 for his mission. Since we do not have time to wait for a US spouse visa for me, we would like to pass through Mexico en route to Nicaragua without having to go through the US. One of the requirements is 3 months of billing statements for international credit card, which I do not have, but my husband has. My question is, since my husband is a US citizen and can travel to Mexico without a visa, by virtue of our marriage certificate, can he declare me as a dependent to waive this credit card requirement on my part?

We are planning a short visit to Our Lady of Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico since it very near the airport. I have my own bank statements to prove financial capability, while administrative work for my husband's mission awaits me in Nicaragua.
