Comments on this Consulate-General
this is one stupid system the "MEXICAN CONSULATE" They claim to be super educated and what they are is a bunch of idiots working there, I wish the USA would take over this whole ordeal of supplying mexican passports to Permanent Residents. This place is a joke! They give you a number to call for an appt. and of course the Operator on eternal break doens't answer. And when they do answer yoiu get an appointment along with 50 other people at the same time. This place is nothing but RIDICULOUS!!!!
We have been to Mexico about 4 times and have never
had a problem with being detained and we have used
buses for transportion to get to downtown Cancun and from Cancun to Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. We have also been to Checthumal and the local residents in all areas were friendly and inviting. Also, hotel
staff people who earn a very low basic wage and work
very hard are very decent people.
The poverty was obvious in downtown Cancun, and some of the residential areas of Playa Del Carmen and Tulum.
In addition to the recent bus indcident noted in the
headline above, I have heard stories of Americans
being stopped in their rental cars and asked for bribes. With respect to the recent bus incident, this should not have taken a over a week to resolve
and at a cost of $5,000. to the woman who had to endure this ordeal. The entire incident is outrageous, especially in light of the fact that the police "witnesses" did not show up and there was no video footage of the woman accused.
In the US the case would have automatically been dismissed. Mexico is a wonderful place to visit
but this recent incident is very concerning and will
make me think twice about visiting again especially
with my grandchildren. There should be zero tolerance
for this type of behavior.
I tried to call the Counsulate this morning (May 31, 2013) and there was not an answer or a an option to leave a message. I sincerely hope that the individuals responsible for unlawfully detaining the woman on the bus are immediately relieved from their duties, and punished to the maximum extent of the law and the jurisdiction that they are located in is fully investigated. Their actions are a major blow to tourism and the hard working individuals in Mexico. The people of Mexico and those who visit Mexico deserve better than this. Also the drug traffic must stop. I would like to see a response on this web site to the above comments. I want to go back to Mexico and feel safe riding the bus just as the President of Mexico feels comfortable staying at the Fairmont Royal Mayakoba or Banyon Tree just north of Plaza Del Carmen.

Mi esposa y yo teniamos planiado nuestro vacacion a Cancun.
As of Today, My wife and I are cancelling our cruise to Mexico in December in protest of the horrible detention of Yanira Maldonado. We will do everything in our power to convince all we know to skip Mexican tourism for their own safety. Really, it was bad enough that we had to worry about driving our own vehicles over the border, now we have to worry about riding on Mexican buses and end up wrongfully thrown into jail??!!! How sad is this state of affairs??!!!
Hello, I am trying to locate a birth certificate or proof of my grandmothers birth. Aurora Cordero, mother Senorina Borrego, Father Aurellio Cordero, born either in Guadalajara or Fresnillo. I have found siblings but nothing on Aurora.
I have called many times without an answer from the operator. I want to make an appointment to chage my fM2 into a Permanente status. How do I make an appointment?
This new website sucks!! I cant find anything on here any more. Thanks
How do I go about getting dual citizenship?
