What is the process to renew my passport
I have contacted the consulate of Mauritius in Melbourne and dealt with Di Fleming. Do not even bother calling her if you need information, she was very abrupt over the phone and also asked me to read the information carefully when it is not even clearly stated on the pdfs. As a reminder of your job description, you are meant to help Mauritians abroad.
Hi there,
I’m just wondering if I am eligible for a Mauritian passport? My dad was born in Port Louis, Mauritius, and I have a photocopy of his birth certificate, I have his last name and he’s on my birth certificate. The only issue is that I am estranged from him, so he can’t be involved.
Sincerely,
Gyorgy Bernard Hortense

OMG!! what kind of service is this ??? I am Mauritian but left Mauritius when I was a baby..I was brought up in England and now am a Citizen of Australia, I unfortunately lost my Mauritian Birth Certificate and rang Mr Rima to inquire how do I go about getting another copy? I was then asked by Mr Rima if I spoke creole and I said NO to that I was told well then your not a Mauritian!
Since when whether one can or cannot speak creole is not a Mauritian!! Totally disgusted in this person telling me that, as far I have always known if you were born in that country then that's what you are regardless whether or not you can speak your mother tongue!!!
Pretty appalling for someone like him to be representing Mauritians in Australia.
Mind you I have been living here as a citizen for over 40 years.
How dare He!!
How do we get answers if not from the local Embassy? This guy has a big fish in a small pond problem but he is not in Mauritius anymore and it is not India... Disgusted
