Comments on this Consulate
This is a special note of thanks to the Lithuanian consulate who was so very helpful to me and my husband on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. We were visiting Sejny Poland because this is where my Lithuanian grandmother said she was born. I was not sure of the some facts. The consulate personally helped us to get our bearings by looking at our data, a map, and assuring us we were in the correct place.
He showed me were to look on line so that I could verify for myself the Lithuanian family names who lived in the region. We are grateful because he appeared to understand why it was important that we pay our respects to the area. We learned people with the same surname still live in the area.
We are so happy we took the chance to travel into Poland to see Lithuania cultural history. Sejny is a lovely town and the region is beautiful. We felt welcomed and had good professional information.
