do not go to Lesotho, do not waste your time. If you are a expat they will try anything to take money from you.
My father was falsely accused by a mob with no proof only witnesses that could have been anyone and arrested stripped naked, he had to spend a night in jail.
Take your aid away form Lesotho. If they say they are poor, shame maybe next time they will not bite the hand that feeds them.
let them understand that people are meant to be treated like people and not animals. until they can behave and understand that the expats of that country are not there cause they want to be there they are there to do a job, up lift the populace and develop the country and not a money making cow.
If you are a expat you are a target simple as that. They say they have the power, take the grants away and see what happens
I visited Lesotho over the week-end. On Saturday 02 August 2014 while driving on the route towards Maseru next to Peka I found a stop sign with police on road. I stopped then proceeded. The four police officers pulled me aside and asked for my driver's license. Upon giving them I was told that I was going to be arrested. I asked the reason why and I was told that I was supposed to wait for them until they called me to proceed. I told them I was not aware that I could not take off from stop sign before being called by the officers. The officers decided to take my driver's license and refused to give back unless I payed a bribe. I refused and asked for a fine if they believe I violated any traffic rules. They refused to issue any fine and insisted I pay a bribe to which I refused. They kept on telling my wife that her husband has money. I had to come back to my country without a driver's license.
