About this time last year I made an inquiry about preparation of a Latvian Passport. Basically I wanted to know what is required to prepare the passport and the cost. However, when I received a reply I was advised to wait, as there was some new information related to Latvian passports, that would be released in September 2013.

I have always had a soft spot for Latvia, because in 1943 I attended a kindergarten at the Latvian Consulate, which at that time was located in Fullers Road Chatswood. The honorary consul was Mr MacLeod. Australia did not recognise the Soviet takeover, and the consulate kept operating for quite a few years. I particularly remember once when I was sick and was taken home in the consulate's Rolls Royce.
