Comments on this Embassy
I am writing, with respect, to the Japanese Government that is the people. We all need to start protecting our natural environment and the wildlife in it. We need to protect and respect nature, because we are all connected, and as such all nature is sacred. When we don't protect and respect, then we, the human race, will reap the cost. It is dangerous when we see ourselves as above and disconnected from animals and nature, for then we pollute and have cruel disregard for our wildlife, our environment becomes poisoned, our animals get ill and we are finished. Old traditions have to stop, we have to reconnect with nature as people, as Governments, and start new traditions working with nature, alongside our wildlife, with respect and gratitude for its beauty and to help it flourish. Please do what you know is right, in your heart. Sincerely Lorna Lunar
If you want to help the whales & dolphins remember! The staff at the Embassy are not whale killers. If you write a rude letter, it will be counter productive and consigned to the waste bin and go no further, it will also incense the whalers to kill even 'more' whales out of spite. Always write a polite letter of complaint, it will be read and forwarded on to Tokyo. It is also worth remembering that the majority of young Japanese people are also against the killing of whales & dolphins and are trying to do their bit back home.
I am writing to complain about the brutal slaughter of Dolphins which takes place every year for 6 months in Japan.
These animals are highly developed and questionably as intelligent as humans. They have stronger family bonds than we do and much higher empathy levels. The slaughter process is drawn out and very cruel. The Dolphins are brutally traumatized in The process.
Japan claims the hunting of Dolphins is tradition, it continues though today as a foil for the captive market. There is no way Dolphins could have been flown around the world in crates centuries ago!
The world is watching you Japan and the multi-million dollar industry of captive dolphins, which you are at the centre of is no longer acceptable in the modern civilized world. Many western world Dolphinariums are reporting falling attendances and profits. We have noticed you are now sending dolphins mainly to China, well that says it all, China is still way behind on the basis of animal welfare!
P!ease consider what much of the world thinks of your behaviour. My family do not purchase anything made in Japan, will not visit your country and shall not be watching the Olympics. Thank you for reading this.
I am distraught to see the two pods of Pilot Whales captured in Taiji this morning. These two pods have juveniles and babies. These will be driven back out to sea and left to die as they will not have their families to take care of them and by doing this the killers quota will not be used. I cannot believe that a country like Japan would allow this cruelty. Japan is hosting the 2020 Olympics many more people will learn of the cruelty in Taiji and Japan will lose a lot of respect in the world.
Sir
The treatment of captured British servicemen (one of whom was my brother) in World War 2 was cruel. But those of us appalled by the treatment should perhaps remember also the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Millions of innocent citizens were killed. The power of those bombs could have been demonstrated by dropping one one an uninhabited island or some other remote place. This would have led to surrender without further bloodshed. Britain and America are guilty of war crimes in the use of these weapons.
You must stop the slaughter of Dolphins and whales. Taiji fishermen must stop killing the Dolphins. Japan is a Fascist right wing country. I do not regret Nagasaki/ Hiroshima.
Here is the letter, sent to the Japanese government, which I and my family support for more than 100%. Please read: Dear Governing Body of Japan,
At a time when all eyes of the world are on you, and the sustainability and humaneness of the dolphin hunt are being exposed, it’s crucial that you use your power to stop the cruel and unpopular slaughter of entire dolphin families.
The barbaric and tortuous treatment of intelligent animals is viewed by most as a sin against the natural world. While other counties have laws against the inhumane slaughter of fellow creatures of this Earth, Japan is eliminating entire pods of dolphins at an exponential rate. The result – the rest of the world is looking at Japan with great disgust.
As resistance to the world’s request to end dolphin slaughter continues, efforts are being made to prevent your country from hosting the 2020 Olympics.
Additionally, you are poisoning your own people. It’s a known fact that dolphin meat is high in mercury and is poisonous for human consumption! Do you want to be responsible for home-grown illness and potentially death among your citizens?
Please be reminded the world is watching you 24/7. Thanks to live recordings streamed by the Sea Shepherd Cove Guardians, the cruel and painfully slow Japanese dolphin slaughter is being viewed in households everywhere.
I hope you will consider the requests and expressions of concern, and do the right thing for your people and the world. Please end the slaughter of dolphins starting now!

Following recent documented footage of the disgusting and inconceivable massacre taking place in Taiji, Japan I felt sick and angry at the capacity for violence and inhumane actions by a group of people/race that have done nothing but sit back and do nothing while basking in the outrage and storm of publicity around the world
I fear that the perception of the Japanese as a whole will change and many many young people will grow up with a conceived notion that violence and atrocities are associated with Japan and the Japanese people. Even within the last few weeks, my notion has gained momentum and believe the Japanese to be a irresponsible, thoughtless and reckless society to the health of the world.
This may sound as if I am branding the actions of a small group as a whole, but change only starts within the borders of a nation and I have seen no evidence to support the Japanese people are are outraged as the rest of the civilised Western World.
You are a great nation and a proud people, but this has cast a dark shadow over an entire nation.
I don't have the words to express my sadness at this point but I can only ask for change and for positive action. I live in this world with a greater sense of togetherness and a close connection with other living things on this earth, I only wish that the people in Taiji will open their eyes and realise that this is wrong, that every life on this planet is sacred and should be treated so.
Take heed, time are changing.

Dear sir, I am writing to you to express my disgust at the imminent Dolphin massacre at the cove in Japan. This must be stopped, it is totally cruel & barbaric. To do this to one of the world's most intelligent species is beyond belief. For the local mayor to say it is ok because it is 'traditional' is obsurd, slavery was 'traditional' in the 18th century along with burning people on stakes and bear ~ baiting. We are more advanced now and certainly more educated and in the 21st century its no longer acceptable. I, for one, will boycott all japanese products if this goes ahead and I don't think i will be the only one. Yours sincerely A Collier
