Horrible and inhumane slaughter of innocent living beings, Taiji, Japan.
Here is the letter, sent to the Japanese government, which I and my family support for more than 100%. Please read: Dear Governing Body of Japan,
At a time when all eyes of the world are on you, and the sustainability and humaneness of the dolphin hunt are being exposed, it’s crucial that you use your power to stop the cruel and unpopular slaughter of entire dolphin families.
The barbaric and tortuous treatment of intelligent animals is viewed by most as a sin against the natural world. While other counties have laws against the inhumane slaughter of fellow creatures of this Earth, Japan is eliminating entire pods of dolphins at an exponential rate. The result – the rest of the world is looking at Japan with great disgust.
As resistance to the world’s request to end dolphin slaughter continues, efforts are being made to prevent your country from hosting the 2020 Olympics.
Additionally, you are poisoning your own people. It’s a known fact that dolphin meat is high in mercury and is poisonous for human consumption! Do you want to be responsible for home-grown illness and potentially death among your citizens?
Please be reminded the world is watching you 24/7. Thanks to live recordings streamed by the Sea Shepherd Cove Guardians, the cruel and painfully slow Japanese dolphin slaughter is being viewed in households everywhere.
I hope you will consider the requests and expressions of concern, and do the right thing for your people and the world. Please end the slaughter of dolphins starting now!

Taiji Japan
Dear ambassador, I would like to express my feelings and opinion about the cruel drive hunt of the Cetaceans near Taiji japan, One say this is tradition and you have to respect the tradition of each country, but when it's an act of violence, cruelty against living beings it's not accepted anymore! What is happening in Taiji during the Dolphin hunting season is beyond words, barbaric methods are used by the hunters. They claim to kill the animals in a humane way... see for yourself, the sentient, highly intelligent sea creatures fight and struggle....no humanity involved. This hunt brings shame on Japan. and in the end you will lose. If you claim to be a civilized country, you should stop this inhumane yearly event. The amount of people in the world against this act of barbarism grows each day. Isn't it time to change the hunt, captivity and killing of this species into protection and conservation of the ocean creatures and start to focus to find solutions both for animals and human beings who earn their living with this hunt? Yours truly, mr Atze Postma
