Lira district union of persons with dsiabilities (LDUPD) is an indigenous organisation that brings together all categories of disabilities in Lira. it was established in 1991 and registered with lira NGO forum and lira district local government as a community based organisation in 1992

for the past years, LDUPD has been involved in a number of lobby and advocacy activities at all level in as far as issues of inclusion of persons with disabilities into the mainstream is concerned.

the main areas of concerns that we strive to streamline are as below.
1. all facilities in schools, hospitals and other public places are made accessible e.g class rooms, toilets and the entire enviroment.
2. communities attitudes positively changed towards persons with disabilities.

3. the level of violation of rights of PWDs is reduced this is mainly through capacity buildings.

4. economically empowering PWDs so that they can have an improved standards of living in their communities

5. Mobility orientation training for the purpose of trying to promote independent living among them.
