Airline Ticket
Iwanted to celebrate my birtthday with my sister Fay Chambers who lives in Montego Bay. She does not have a US visa so I decided we should go to Europe. She applied for and received the necessary visa from the Spanish Embassy after 5 wks. She applied for a Canadian visa but after 3 wks had to withdraw the application as my birthday was days away. She went to the Canadian Embassy on a Monday and was told to return the coming Wednesday to pick up her passport. She informed the person she spoke with she was unable to. Through the intervention of an Embassy personnel in Montego Bay she was able to have someone collect her passport.

She waited at Dateline Travel for her passport to be delivered and to purchase a ticket. She had been talking to Travel Agent Larna Bailey Campbell from the previous week. According to the Travel Agent my sister was denied being intransit in Amsterdam even though she had a visa that would allow her access to most of Europe. The explanation being, a lot of gay Jamaicans go to Amsterdam and once they land they apply for Refugee status because they are persecuted in Jamaica.

My sister returned home with her suitcase Thursday June 19th while I boarded my flight from Chicago. I was intransit in NY when I received this information. She gave the Travel Agent the money she had in hand and went off to the Currency Exchange to pick up more money my daughter had to send as the ticket price went significantly higher. Again she missed a flight as the Agent did not hold the seat and the ticket was gone when she returned. She was placed on a flight for Sunday June 22nd returning July 7th even though Travel Agent was told by my sister and myself that the trip was planned for June 19th to June 26th.

My sister arrived in Barcelona June 23rd. I departed June 26th but I had to pay continue paying hotel cost. Once I arrived home I started talking to Mrs. Bailey Campbell who tried to shift blame herself. I told her she had to get her on an earlier flight.

She was eventually able to get her on a flight returning July 2nd but needed an additional US $601.00. I sent the money Western Union but stopped it as I think this was very unreasonable and exhorbitant.
