My neighbor (Italian born) is having papers sent to her regarding property she is part owner of in Italy. The papers need to be signed by the Italian consulate. Does anyone know where I can find an office in Albany, NY?
I agree with the above. I have never experienced a more unprofessional environment. Poor interpersonal skills. Unprofessional service skills. Rude and nasty. The nicest person in the entire building was the guard behind the window at the door who probably gets paid a lot less than the nasty employees within the building. My father was born in Italy and came here when he was 17. He would be ashamed to say that he was associated with these Italians who work in this building. They forget they are in the USA. They need an attitude adjustment.
I read posts about the employees of the consulate being rude, and I just wanted to write a few comments. if you visited other consulates from other nations, you will most likely get the same attitude, these people are there to act as gatekeepers, and not as travel agents, they are usually under staffed, and overwhelmed with worl loads, especially during the high season summer months, also many people do not bother to go there prepared with all the docs they will need, as a matter of fact what government agencies here in the U.S.A do you know of treat you like a guest at the ritz carlton? they are not selling you anything, they are checking, and processing you..keep that in mind when you visit any consulate, and trust me American consulates over seas, are no different.

the Italian consulate in new York is the worse consulate that I ever been to. they are so unprofessional, so un patient, so disrespectful. And most of all they must be out of their minds. they act like people who are asking for an Italian visa they wanted to live there, can you imagine living in United States of America the greatest place on Earth yet willing to move to an other country specially a country such as Italy. I am a US permanent resident. And I love it. The reason I am doing this is because a few days ago I went to the Italian consulate to request a visa so that I can visit Italy for 2 weeks they act like I want to go there just to stay,wowwow
I have property and a house in Italy and want to give my portion to my sister. How do I go about doing this legally with the Italian laws???
Can I get an appointment with the Consulate for a Notary? Please let me know asap.
