Comments on this Consulate-General
After reading some negative posts, I wish to express my opinion.
The tsunami of tourists that Italy attracts yearly especially in the summer months, makes working for the Italian Consulate exceptionally challenging. Italy is also experiencing an invasion of undocumented illegals causing immense problems for Italy on every level.... I personally cannot blame them for being cautious. As someone already mentioned in a previous post, they really are gatekeepers after all, and American Consulates are indeed the same.
My sister and I, had a positive experience with Bruno. He was very professional, attentive and hard working, with a wonderful classic Italian disposition.
Try to be considerate with others, it will be returned in- kind.

I would like to know, how do I go about applying for an italian citizenship by decent. I would love to move one day to my grandmother's home town.
Hello everyone! and hopefully someone can help me with my question. I have a native Italian friend who is here without a visa and he will like to renew his Italian passport. On the Italian Consulate General website it says "that someone without a green card, cannot obtain a passport". How horrible! I thought they were suppose to help their citizens residing abroad. Could anyone tell if there is any other way he can obtain his passport while residing in the US without legal status??? I would really appreciate your response!! Thank you!
