Visiting in Italy
Hello, I have a friend of mine who was invited by her family for the wedding in Italy. The question is: what is the general requirements in order to go there for one week? Though I'm assuming that that visa is one of them, but what are the other requirements? If you please reply me as soon as possible, I would strongly appreciate it. Here is my email address to do so: e.villada@hotmail.com

Thank you
Eddy.

renewing italian passoports in italy
My elderly mother and sick brother, who live in a small town in Sicily, have expireed italian passports. I wish for them to come back to the U.S. where they have permanent residency. What are the steps for them to take to renew their passports? My brother is not well and needs as much assistance as possible in this task. Where do they go to renew these documents? Do they need to go to a special government office or is a city hall sufficient? I'd appreciate you response as soon as possible. Thank you.

Is there a process to obtain birth certificates for grandparents who were born in Trapani, Italy in 1896 and 1900?

The grandfather, born in 1896, was in the Italian Navy, immigrated to the US and never returned to Italy. The grandmother did
travel back to Italy in the 1950s. I’m not sure if a birth certificate was required to obtain a passport during the 50s. Unfortunately,
the family has no documents.

Please advise. Thank you.

Traveling for Italy and having problem with Alitalia changing a letter in the name
I bought a ticket on the internet of Alitaia and when I printed the ticket I notice
a spelling error on the name. Rosann verses Rose Ann. the passport has Rose Ann
I called Alitalia and they said they can not change it for the correct name. They said the only way that it can be change is to delete the ticket Price $1495.00 and loose
the money and buy a new ticket for todays price. I explain to them the situation, it had to be their internet mistake, but whoever mistake it was it should be fix and
I do not have to loose $1495.00 and buy another ticket at higher price. They also
said if I use the ticket as is there is no guarantee that it will be valid.
I am a Sandy storm victim from Breezy Point and have been to a lot of grieve and
problem since my house burned and flooded. This is an aggravation I do not need right now. We are leaving on the 16th of July to Rome. Please help me to get this fix before we leave for Italy. I booked 11 people to go to Italy to see your beautiful country and this
is what I have to go through with the Italian airline. I can give you any information you need. This is a family trip.

Thanking you in advance Marie Lopresti

Is the US better?
At least we do not let you stand in line for 2 hours at custom when you arrive in our country as you do every time I come back to the US... Even if I leave here, I work here they always treat me like I am a Paki terrorist

I agree with the comment of Susan. People who work in the Italian consulate in NYC are very rude and incompetent. They treat whoever calls like idiots and give you a different answer every time you call. Shame on them.
