I too am having heaps of trouble renewing my Italian passport. A two year wait!! How crazy. I have written an email to our Italian representative in the Italian senate Marco Fedi and I suggest you do the same if you are having problems with the Consulate. If he gets enough complaints he may do something. I hear he is a very reasonable person!

My mother in law would like to renew her Italian passport, which has expired.
She lives in Melbourne but is not an Australian citizen.

20 month wait to get my passport renewed?? they could double their workforce and still have a 1 year backlog. Missing out on employment now thanks to itlianechnicalities.
I would like some information in regards to gaining dual citizenship. My parents were both Italian citizens when I was born in Australia but became Australian citizens 10 years later.

Can someone please contact me regarding passport renewal. Looking at the other comments attached to this page, I'm not hopeful, but I'll try anyway. I tried emailing the above email address but it bounced back
I would like some information in regards to gaining dual citizenship. My parents are both Italian nationals and Australian citizens.
I have been trying without success to speak with someone regarding a passport renewal. After trying at least 50 times and being cut off I have given up. With 2 young children it's not ideal to have to come to the consulate and wait for a minimum amount of information.
