I would like to apply for my italian passport. My dad was an Italian citizen and died in Italy. I want to imigrate after my son has matriculated 2012. How do I go about obtaining the relivant documents?

I am scheduled to travel on 7 July but can only get an appointment on 30 June. Will this be sufficient time. Please help! Am not sure what to do.

I HAVE APPLIED ON LINE AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE 01 JULY 2011. IT WAS THE FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT. I LEAVE ON THE 31 AUGUST. IS THIS GOING TO GIVE ME TIME?
My son is booked to leave for Italy on 15 June but cannot get an appointment for his visa until 25 June - he only received his passport on Monday so couldn't apply before - what can he do? He called but no one was prepared to listen to him or give him a solution.
