in search for my italian father, who was captured during the war.
I was born in SIEGEN Germany in march 1046. In 1945,my mother Simon,Brunhilde met my bilogical father, from witch I only know his first name:Guiseppe and that he originally came from Napels. In those days,it seems that nobody in the family was permitted to speak about it!At a certain moment,( I was 19 at the time)my grandmum talked about it,under the impression that I already knew about it.In a certain way,one does!In 1949, I was three at the moment,my mother moved to Belgium, because she had met my future stepfather, who had fulfilled his military service in Siegen. On april the 2nd,1949 they where married in Borgerhout/Antwerp and on september the 17th,of the same year, I was officially adopted. Before the marriage,I received the familyname of my mother:Simon. A few weeks ago,I travelled to Napels, in the hope they could find out about my real father, with only the help of his first name,Guiseppe! According to someone in the townhall, there is a particular division elswhere in Napels, but one can only get information when one has a sir-name! And that is exactly my problem! The older I get,the more I feel the need to know my father's name. I feel no need, to find his family and to disrupt their lives,I would not do that! I will pop my question to your services now: can someone please help me to find out, what happened to my biological father and what was his name??? I believe, there is a strong possibility, that he was stil in Siegen/Germany in 1949, because: when we already where living with my new grand-parents and I must have been between three and four years old, their was a tall and darkhaired gentlemen who came ringing at the door, and probably asked if he could see me,'cause my mother granted him to take me for a walk! I suppose,my German grand-parents told him where we where?! I will always remember that, sitting on his shoulders... Afterwards, he dropped me back home and I have never have seen him again!! I strongly think, this MUST have been him!According to several people over here in Belgium, who where prisoners of war and where send over to Germany in prison, they all where released in 1945 and have been send back to the homeland after a certain while. I also have learned, that when one was an Italian prisoner of war and dropped in Germany, one was a Partisano and against Mussolini. Maybe, this can help you to find out?! I would beccome the happiest woman on earth, if you could do the necessary to help me out?! I will keep my fingers crossed and keep my hopes up, in the meantime! With all of my heart: my sincere thanks beforehand and good luck, yours truly, Karin Vervloet-adres: De Tomermaat,56 - 2930 Brasschaat/Antwerp- Belgium
