I would like to apply for dual citizenship but the process seems extremely confusing. i have viewed the website myitaliancitizenship.com several times and I still don't know if I apply. Both my grandparents on both my parents side were born in Italy, however my fathers side lives in England, so I'll ask about my mothers side.. my mother's father I believe was naturalized to the us, before my mothers birth. so that's out of the question, but my mother's mother was never naturalized. she may have even been living in the us illegally intact. She is also now deceased, and i don't think we have any paperwork for her. however knowing this much am I able to apply? if so, where is the nearest Italian consulate I am in Massachusetts, and would they accept a 'no records' certificate from USCIS? also how do I get that certificate. I am very confused and have always dreamed of carrying an Italian passport. any help is greatly appreciated.

Good afternoon,
My husband and I would like to take our 73 year old mother to Venice in September 2012, she is a resident from the United States and her nationality is from Peru. What do I need to get a visa for her to go to Italy?
Thanks
Caroline
I was born in Boston but now live in Asia and like to know what Consulate do i apply for Italian Citizenship ?
Also my last name is spelled wrong by 1 letter when my Grandfather entered the USA.
But now i have both his and his brother's birth certificates that show that both have the same parents. His brother however last name never changed and is spelled correctly.
My question now is if that is enough proff of our true last name
