Booking an appointment
I would like to know the requirements needed for one to go as an au-pair in Ireland and also how I can book my appointment

Very helpful and friendly environment
I disagree by the unpleasant comments. I applied for a visa early next year, I think Irish Consulate offices have got very pleasant and friendly staff. The young girl handling the visa department was polite and very helpful through out the process.

Satisfied Applicant
Having read the comments above I am prompted to state my own treatment with visa applications is quite different and I and my colleagues have only been treated with friendly and helpful assistance well beyond our expectations by the Consulate staff. It is difficult to reconcile the comments above with my own experiences.

Out of Date - Rude
On appllyng for a visa for a senior manager in our organisation to visit Ireland I was told to ask my CEO'S wife to assist in the application as she was experienced in the application process. ?????????? What is the purpose of the Irish ( non national) staff there. Also on going to a scheduled meeting , during the restrictive 830-1230 opening hours , the Secretary did not appear for 1 and a 1/2 hours ( late and unexplained). Honestly I as an Irish man operating inEA was grossly embaresed in front of my African Staff which number in excess of 2,500. . I am deeply annoyed as my GM Technical Division did not make the journey on time.

Unprofessional Service
The first time i contacted this office, the same rude receptionist was at the other end of the line. Part of the problem is: She's not really the receptionist. She works for her Father in industrial area and their office occassionally doubles up as the Consulate of Ireland! She's very slow, lethargic almost, with a chip on her shoulder. My advice to you all, send applications directly to Tanzania and only deal with her when you pick up your passport!

Visa to Ireland
I have finished my online application for a short stay visa in Ireland. However, I am shocked to learn that my application has been forwarded to the Tanzanian Consulate.

I have the application summary and don't know how to send it there, furthermore what is the guarantee of my passports safety and timely return for my travel?

The phone numbers are out of order or not picked.

Please help me since my travel date is very near.

Telephone lines and rude receptionist
Please do something about your telephone lines and staff at this office. The telephones are never answered and when answered then there is a rude attendant who wants one to understand that she is busy and one fails to understand if this is the applicants problem. Again, what is the point of saying that workings hours are between 8.30am to 12.30pm when you cannot be served within this hours. It is very frustrating and unless you do something, then she is giving a very bad picture of Ireland yet she is not Irish.
