Disappointing performance by the Irish Embassy
On the 14th and again on the 18th September 2017 I contacted the Irish Embassy in Athens seeking information for a family whose English is less adequate than mine. The first contact was via an online form for this purpose, and the second to the email address given on this page.

So far, around two weeks later, there has been no reply, not even an acknowledgement of receipt. Of course there may be reasons why the embassy cannot help, but an answer to this effect and explaining the reasons is the minimum to be expected from a diplomatic representation. The "no answer response" is one often adopted by organisations seeking to avoid their responsibilities and is not worthy of the Irish representation in Greece. I am disappointed.

My recent passport application has been handled in a delightful manner. Normally when one phones anywhere these days, one expects an automatic menu of "press 1 for X, press 2 for y, press 3 for outer space..." but not here. A real voice answers the phone, and that real voice then answers your query!! Wonderful.

Greek widows pension
I have sent my documents to the Irish embassy in Athens by email attachments....I would be grateful if you could contact the Social Department IKA..on my behave to see if im entitled to recieve Greek Widows Pension..as the Department of Social and Family affairs in Ireland want this information...kind Regards...email sent to embassy in greece...
