The only way to get a visa for Iran
The messages here do not surprise me. I tried calling, emailing and even slow mail to enquire about getting visas.
We had 63 days on the road before arriving in Iran for 17 days, and the visa only lasts 90 days (until departure).
In the end I resorted to using a travel agency in Melbourne. They were expensive but at least they got the visas to me in time.

Workers needed: Iranian Emabssy
If you can pick up a phone and do your job, please try your best to contact the Iranian Emabassy in Canberra…I think they need you…
Current workers are too busy eating Ob Gusht, they are sleeping during business hours. You may need to go directly to embassy and knock loudly!
PS. If you get the job, could you please call me, Ive been trying to ask a simple question for weeks and feel bad to keep disturbing napping people.
Thanks
Peeky

Worst customer service in the world!
I have been all over the world and obtained visas for more than 40 different counties! I have been just trying to contact the iranian embassy in Canberra for 4 weeks now. I have called each open day between designated times and can NEVER get through! (except once, I was put on hold and no one ever came back) Dont worry about it Iran, I will take my family and our touist money else where. The way I see it, its propably the safer choice anyway given the lack of respect Ive received here in Australia! Boo Iran, and to think, I even was rooting for you in the world cup soccer….Not impressed!

Please spare the life of Reyhaneh Jabbari
I am making no comment on the foreign policy of Iran. I would like the embassy to convey to the Iranian government my plea to spare the life of alleged sex assault victim Reyhaneh Jabbari. Please research this case, and try to help to save this woman's life. I have not heard any word from the embassy on this subject.

what is going on
why is is so hard to contact the embassy, really what are you doing, I hear conversations about your country going down the drain.
This must be so true as no one cares and no matter what you do to contact nothing happens. It seems pulling teeth would be easier and more enjoyable, is this what we should expect from this countries government. No wonder the financial plight of this country is going down the tubes, sounds like it is run by people that do not give a shit

I need help....no one is answering ph at embassy between the prescribed hours.....I am nervous sending off passports without having some queries answered. How long does it take for application and is the visa stamped from date of issue or from when your trip commences. Please assist.

As a canberra local it doesn't surprise me one bit that their actual application to build their own building alongside all the other embassies was flat out rejected. I have been friends with a former Iranian ambassador's son but their embassy and people in control of government operations are paranoid thugs.
