What your government has done today is make Indonesia an international laughing stock . How can you expect to be taken seriously as a C21st nation with actions like this .I sincerely hope our government has the courage to hit you very , very hard . Cancelling all temporary visas would be a good start . Your president is aptly named , he is a Joke-o

threats of boat people comeing to oz is just another reason why we as australians should have nothing more to do with your country, and as for our beef we have the best beef in the world and have realy big contracts now with china and many other countrys, your million acres of land in wa might as well be,a nature reserve cos i dout you will ever get a beast out of there, frankly i think our cattle are far to good for you lot.

Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran
The Indonesian Consulate.

I wish to add my name to the growing list of those opposed to the execution of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

Whilst I respect Indonesia's sovereignty, I respect God's gift of life more. All people make poor decisions in life – that’s how we learn and grow as individuals - as a society, and the true measure of a society is in the treatment of its most disenfranchised.

I challenge the argument that their deaths would deter future smuggling in Indonesia. I challenge also that the aggressive display of force the Indonesian government is using is in Indonesia’s best interests.

The lack of compassion to those facing execution is testing Indonesia’s respect of human rights, and also influencing their standing in the global community.

I ask that Andrew and Myuran sentences be commuted. The Australian government has offered solutions that would help in this process.

I ask that the lives of these two men be valued and not be used as a political statement of Indonesia’s sovereign right, or of Indonesia’s dissatisfaction with Australia’s recent poor behaviour.

Respectfully,
Steven Jurgeit
