Comments on this Embassy
Last month i applied for visa to travel to Bintan,Indonesia to attend a 'Reserve Management Workshop' organised by Bank of International settlement, BIS. The workshop commences on the 4th of June 2010.
I called Indonesian office in Port Moresby for a VISA application form, and they did faxed me the application form. I filled the application form with all required documents informations, including my passport and sent it through DHL on the 7th of May 2010. DHL PNG Delivered the documents at Indonesian embassy on the 10th of May. We also made a prepaid arrangement with DHL for the return arrangement of the documents.
I followed up on my application a week later with indonesian office and they assured me that they have received my visa application and passport and will have it processed on time before june 4th. Until today 16th june 2010 i am yet to receive back my passport. The propose d date for the workshop had passed and still my passport is still to be delivered back to me. I made several calls to the office, they promise to deliver it on time but they didnt. They dont even delivered it to DHL until today, though we paid DHL for the return delivery of the document.
This diplomatic office is a shame, for not meeting the highest professional service it requires to offer to people who seek indonesian visa. My visa application reached their office 4 weeks before my travel time to indonesia, but they failed miserably to facillitate my Visa application. I think the indonesian authority to look into improving this poor service in the future, especially from a well recognised foreign/diplomat office
