RE: Visas
My friends and I have recently booked flights to Kuala Lumpur and hope to tour parts of Indonesia during our time in that part of the world. Our entire visit is less that 28 days. Our outward flights leaves Dublin on the 6th of July and we are due to return to Dublin the on 3rd of August. If you could send us some information regarding visas for travelling in Indonesia, we would be very much obliged.

Many thanks in advance,

Nicola Kelly

Monkeys sold in markets
Dear Sir, We were at the Melia Hotel Benoa recently and one of the guests had a baby monkey, Apparently it is legal to sell monkeys in Bali and babies ate being sold to holiday-makers who clearly are too ignorant or uncaring to realise they are encouraging a wicked trade. The mother monkeys are shot and the babies stolen. I have a photo of the Australian guy with the baby monkey. It had a big collar rund its neck and it was squeaking pathetically.

THis and the fact that you see cockerels in tiny tiny cages waiting to be put into a cock fight ( apparently they can be kept in the cages for months before the fight) will stop me visiting Bali again as I am very much for animal rights. So sad as otherwise the Balinese seemed to be lovely people. Would appreciate your comments on these two issues. Thank you in advance Yours sincerely, Sally Thelen

Indonesia is a disgrace.
Indonesia is a disgrace. Don't travel to Indonesia until he is freed and the people responsible are punished.

Release Alexander Aan now!
Forcing him to languish in a cell for two and a half years is not going to make him believe in Allah.
Its a travesty. Shame on Indonesia!
We Irish know only too well what happens when the religious get their hands on too much civil power.

In Defence of Alex Aan
I am writing to express my abhorrence at the treatment of one of your citizens Alex Aan. It is medieval and barbaric that a nation State in 2012 can arrest and imprison one of its citizens for rejecting Islam and every other religion. I suggest if you wish to promote your country as a place to visit you need to change the law and promote freedom of speech and conscience in your country as a matter of great urgency. Not to do so will place Indonesia within the same league of Islamic despotic nations such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Yemen.

I will not be visiting your country anytime soon and will be encouraging others not to do so either until you bring your legal system into the 21st century.
