Hypocrisy and corruption
I don't doubt for one moment that leniency in this matter was always a question of money. Indonesia is corrupt to it's core. Why any sane Australian would ever countenance travelling to your squalid, backward, corrupt hole of a country is beyond me. Let's hope that all the countries currently holding Indonesian citizens on death row show the same level of compassion to them as you did to ours.

Executions justified
Let us not forget the two Australians were the leaders of a drug trafficking gang. They did not show mercy or compassion for Australians when they attempted to smuggle in drugs for personal gain. They knew the score and now have paid the price for their greed. Let this be a lesson to other drug traffickers.
Condolences to the families.

Indonesian Government Murders
With a fleet of ambulances carrying the latest round of freshly murdered corpses, who would want to invest or holiday in Indonesia?

Joko Widodo should be treated like any other murderer. I wouldn't holiday in your blood-stained country if I was paid to. Move into the 21st century & the civilised world & stop your killing spree.

Indonesia - incompetent judicary and government.
How can you execute these two men when there is an appeal process still in play? Such much for the Indonesian legal system which we have already heard are open to bribes.
The concept of incarceration is supposedly there to rehabilitate the inmates and make them fit to rejoin society. Andrew and Myuran have certainly ticked all these boxes and now you are going to kill them. Sends a really good message to other prisoners who may have thought of pursuing a similar path.
Pointless deaths ordered by a government with no empathy or spine and dubious moral standards.

NOMINATED RELIGIOUS COUNSEL DENIED - WHAT AN OUTRAGE
Whatever you may think about this whole sorry, sad story, according to the ABC Indonesian law stipulates that where the death penalty is applied the condemned prisoners are allowed a religious counsellor in the final moments before they are shot by firing squad.

However we are now faced with the apparent news that the two pastors nominated by the convicted drug smugglers - Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran - to be their final support have been denied access to their island prison today. This is as well as the two condemned men's families and friends being made to fight their way through a rabid crowd to gain access to the island for their potential final visit. What psychological barbarity is going on here????

And always remember what Julie Bishop has continually reminded us of regarding the “double standard” and hypocrisy that Indonesia is engaged in as it campaigns to save the lives of its own citizens on death row in other countries while at the same time it is carrying out executions at home.

Take a good hard look...

Bali
I have been going to Bali for many years now. I believe these people knew what they were doing was wrong, & they knew the consequence,s before they did this, I believe they always thought they wouldn't get caught. They did & this is the consequence of their actions. Australia need to take a good hard look at the Drug culture in our country, it's getting very bad, the penalties in Aust are not hard enough & this is one of the reasons it's bad. I also know that Indonesia are being hypocrites as you can still buy many drugs easily in this country. Let the execution of these men be a hard learnt lesson, they say, but is it making it harder to get these drugs ??????????? Spend the time & money on stopping the source of these drugs. Educate our kids on the harmfull & pernament effects of these drugs, killing these 2wont do these things, it won't help change the drug couture , but these two men can help to do this. They now know the consequence,s of their actions.
Please spare them our kids need it.
