What is the point of having e-mail ID's and phone numbers on the Embassy website if the emails are never replied and no one ever answers the phone except the reception ?
Just write clearly on the website in BOLD letters that any query or information can only be obtained in person.

I am writing here with some concern about the apparant lack of professionalism when it comes to responding the questions, both by means of email and telephone.
My fortune started when i first sent an email to the Indian Embassy, Rome, 4 weeks ago. After which i had to send other 3 as i did not recieve any reply back from them. During this period, i've also tried to contact them over the telephone. The point to be noted here is that, no one in the office is ready to answer the call. I've tried for days and days after which thank god, someone responded to the call. But the person soon after knowing the topic, he put me on hold and never either came back or transfered the call the right department. After that i continued with my luck and this time to my surprise, some one answered the call and hang the phone on me even before saying "hello!".
Well guys... this is scene we've in our offices abroad. I don't know about the conditions of the Indian Embassy in the other countries(i guess no better than this), but this is absolutely unprofessional. The code of conduct is not just between the people at work (like colleagues) but also with people who seek information with them with HOPE to resolve the problems. It's a SHAME that the staff working in the govt. offices abroad are not realising that they represent the COUNTRY. The staff feel high sufference and agony to SERVE. They lack professionalism at workplace and are disrespectful. They claim the country as "Incredible India" and "The Next Global Power". How come the country reach such levels when the core of the public relations is at such pessimistic level?
Huh...! I've much more to say about my experiences with the embassy when i went to the office for a new passport in the past. But i hold on for now as i scare i loose my diplomacy and civility if things continue in this way.
I hope the gods up in the skies would helps me to resolve the issues i seeked with the Indian Embassy.
