visa for india
I would have liked to spend some time in India so I applied for a visa on line. After 2 wks of not hearing from anyone and endlessly trying my temp vias number but not getting anywhere I decided to go while I was in Kandy. No at your consulate, so I tuk tuked it to your other location which was miles away. I went and talked to your agent Hussein and he sais that I would have to go back to Colombo because my online visa application had a Colombo number. He then said I could go downstairs and next door and print put my visa and get a picture taken, my pictures wouldn't good enough. So I did all that which of course cost a lot of money. The picture printing machine broke down so I then had to go back up stairs and get another picture taken. Back I went to Hussein now he realized that I lived in Canada but had a U/k passport so then I had to get my Canadian resident card and my drivers license printed out. Back to Hussein who then informed me that I now had to fill put another form with my English address on it. I have not lived in England for over 25 yrs, but I did remember my last address, so I filled that form in and return once again to Hussein. He then informed me that I had filled in that I was going to Delhi but I had no hotel address, I stated that I had not booked in anything because I didn't have a visa yet. He then told me to go online and pick any hotel, asked what the WiFi number was, but of course there was no WiFi there so I couldn't do that. He then informed me after all that that he couldn't process my visa because it was a Colombo number and he couldn't/wouldn't change it. This process cost me over 20.00 USD plus 2 hrs. And still no visa.
What is going on? do you not want people to go and spend money in your country. I've just booked in to go to the Philippines, I can get a visa on arrival.
If I was a US person I could get a visa on arrival in India but not a Canadian with a British passport?
