passport renewal
How do I replaced my expired Hungarian passport? Is the Consulate still in Toronto? Can it be done online?

Stand Strong Hungary
I was reading proudly Odor Balint's article in the National Post on September 22, 2015, titled: "A word in Hugary's defense".

I hole-heartedly share Jaroslaw Kalmuk's sentiment:

"Support for the courageous people of Hungary and their PM Viktor Orban
Stand strong!!!"

All the Best,

Toronto Consular closed??
I've called the Toronto location a few times and it always ends up disconnecting. I also read somewhere that the consular activities in Toronto have now been moved to the Hungarian embassy Ottawa. Good luck to all of those people who don't live in the general area!(Including myself).

Cheers!

Syrian refuges in Hungary
I'm really sorry that the media doesn't say what is exactly happening in Hungary and hiding facts. But what else is new. First of all when some one whom call his-self refugee and say he/she doesn't want to stay in Hungary, because they had better life in Syria in my eyes they're not refugees. The reason they want to get in Germany because that country has the best welfare system. Not to mention these people didn't respect our religion and damaged our churches, stone crosses, our cemeteries etc. They put all the food they got in the garbage and refuse to eat it. They have lots of money too. They were stilling and destroyed farmers fields. They don't want to be in a camp like other nationalities whom been refuges in Europe. Who the hell are they to tell to eveyrone what to do? Why don't they go to a rich Muslim country if they have a problem with our religion? Hungarians always welcomed people, but they have to respect our religion and law also. If they cannot then stay away.

Refugees
First of all it is ludicrous to suggest the Hungarian government was deliberately trying to stop refugees from reaching their country of choice. They were merely trying to enforce the 1990 Dublin Convention. Which states they must be registered at point of entry. However it seems that many of the refugees didn't want to adhere to anything. I helped billet thousands of Hungarian refugees during the their revolution back in the 50s. None of them behaved in the manner which these recent refugees from war -torn countries are acting. Under these circumstances I praise the Hungarian government for showing restraint. Bearing in mind the abuse their police and military have had to contend with.

Refugees
I was living in Vienna Austria in 1956 and we accepted all Hungarians crossing the border to freedom. I urge you to show the same compassion to the population fleeing the conflict in Syria.I will work on the Canadian Government to do the same.

Shame
This train had not been going anywhere near the border with Austria......Germany. It had all been a monstrous hoax. A Hungarian policeman admitted... writes ROBERT HARDMAN,re. Syrian immigrants. Is this happening again? Along with the mistreatment of ROMA in Hungary...I will boycott Hungarian wines and other products.

Phone lines working
I tried calling the consulate this morning and all the lines get disconnected. Highly unprofessional and disturbing.
